A Victoria Sponge Cake with vanilla buttercream and raspberry jam filling, covered in soft fondant.

This is a cake made for the 85th birthday of a keen fly fisher. The decoration comprises scenery painted with food colours (grassy banks, reeds, bushes, water), modelling paste figure in waders and deerstalker hat, fondant wooden gate and fly fishing rod. The ‘fly’ on the top of the cake is made with fondant, wire and edible rice paper.
