A 6″ vanilla vodka fruitcake, with a marzipan topping, wrapped in parchment paper and decorated with oven dried orange slices. A very simple decoration for someone who loves fruitcake but is not so keen on icing.

Austin Healey

A very charming and lovely man celebrated his 80th birthday earlier this month and is celebrating with family this weekend. His two year old grandson Henry came along on a secret mission to collect granddad’s cake this morning and was quite pleased with it, more pleased with the Lego Technics digger in the corner but then again he is a 2-year-old boy!

Richard’s toolbox

Richard celebrated his 60th birthday yesterday in fine style with family and friends. Angela wanted him to have a cake reflecting two of his hobbies; DIY and cycling so here it is!

Jenny’s walking cake

A walking themed cake for Jenny who is celebrating her 80th birthday. Cake is a vanilla vodka fruit cake covered with marzipan and soft fondant icing. Decorations are made from fondant icing, a little bit of pipe work and the sign post is wooden lollipop sticks which have been etched with my pyrography kit!

Dan’s 18th

Happy Birthday to Dan who celebrated his 18th last week. Both cakes were a light, moist, lemon sponge. Numbers were made with royal icing and a few fondant ones, with fondant starts on wires. A number 18 sparkler candle finishes it off.
